Managing two-factor authentication

Two-factor authentication (2FA) adds an extra layer of security to your OrbitRemit account. When enabled, you'll be asked to enter a 6-digit code from an authenticator app each time you log in, in addition to your email and password.


Before you begin

You'll need an authenticator app installed on your phone. Compatible apps include:

  • Google Authenticator
  • Microsoft Authenticator
  • Authy
  • 1Password

How to enable two-factor authentication

On web:

  1. Log in to your OrbitRemit account at secure.orbitremit.com.
  2. Click your initials in the top-right corner and select Settings.
  3. Select Two-Factor Authentication.
  4. Using your authenticator app, scan the QR code or enter the code manually.
  5. Enter the 6-digit code from your authenticator app and click Enable.

On mobile:

  1. Log in to the OrbitRemit app.
  2. Tap the Settings icon.
  3. Under the Security section, tap Two-Factor Authentication.
  4. Using your authenticator app, scan the QR code or enter the code manually.
  5. Enter the 6-digit code from your authenticator app and tap Enable.

To confirm 2FA is active, go to Settings and check that the Enabled label is showing next to Two-Factor Authentication. From your next login, you'll be prompted to enter your 6-digit code.


How to disable two-factor authentication

On web:

  1. Log in to your OrbitRemit account at secure.orbitremit.com.
  2. Click your initials in the top-right corner and select Settings.
  3. Select Two-Factor Authentication.
  4. Enter the 6-digit code from your authenticator app and click Disable.

On mobile:

  1. Log in to the OrbitRemit app.
  2. Tap the Settings icon.
  3. Under the Security section, confirm the Enabled label is showing next to Two-Factor Authentication.
  4. Tap Two-Factor Authentication.
  5. Enter the 6-digit code from your authenticator app and tap Disable 2FA.
