Paying With a Credit Card

OrbitRemit accepts credit card payments for international money transfers. Any applicable fees are shown clearly before you confirm payment.

Steps to pay with a credit card

  1. Log in to your OrbitRemit account at orbitremit.com (or create one if you're new).
  2. Set up your transfer — select the destination country, enter the amount, and add or select your recipient's details.
  3. On the payment screen, select Pay with Credit Card. Any credit card fees will be displayed here before you proceed.
  4. Enter your card details:
    • Card number
    • Expiry date
    • CVV security code
    • Name on card
  5. Review the transfer details and confirm your payment.

Once processed, your transfer status will update in your dashboard and you'll receive a confirmation email. OrbitRemit will begin sending the funds to your recipient.

Note: OrbitRemit only accepts credit cards held in your name.

Credit card fees

Paying by credit card may involve:

  • An OrbitRemit card surcharge
  • A cash-advance fee charged by your bank
  • Interest charges if your bank treats money transfers as a cash advance

All OrbitRemit fees are shown under each payment option before you confirm. We recommend checking with your bank if you're unsure how they classify credit card payments to money transfer services.

Payment limits

Customer type Maximum per transaction
Existing customer AUD $5,000
First-time customer AUD $2,000

If your transfer amount exceeds your card limit, OrbitRemit will let you know at checkout. You may be able to complete the transfer using a bank transfer instead.

Processing time

Credit card payments are typically processed instantly. Your transfer status should update in your dashboard straight away after payment.

If your status hasn't updated shortly after paying, check your card or banking app to confirm whether the funds have left your account. If the payment has been debited but your transfer status hasn't changed, contact our support team and we'll look into it for you.

If your card payment is declined

Check the following:

  • You have sufficient available credit
  • Your bank hasn't blocked or flagged the transaction
  • Your card details were entered correctly
  • Your card is a Visa or Mastercard

If the issue continues, contact your bank or reach out to our support team.

Refunds

If your transfer hasn't been sent yet, you can cancel it and request a refund back to the same credit card. Refund processing times vary depending on your bank but may take several business days.

Is a credit card the right option for you?

A credit card is a good choice if you need your transfer processed quickly and don't have immediate access to your bank account. However, it may cost more overall due to card surcharges, cash-advance fees, and potential interest charges from your bank.

If cost is a priority, a bank transfer is usually the lower-fee option. You can compare payment methods and their fees side by side during checkout before you confirm.
