OrbitRemit lets you send money to someone in the Philippines who can collect it as cash from a local payout location — no bank account needed.
What you'll need before you start
Collect the following details from your recipient before creating the transfer:
- Full name (exactly as it appears on their valid ID, including middle names if applicable)
- Residential address
- Mobile number
The details you enter must match your recipient's ID exactly. Any mismatch can cause delays or prevent collection.
Step 1: Log in and start a transfer
- Log in to your OrbitRemit account at orbitremit.com. If this is your first transfer, see: A guide to creating your first transfer.
- Select Philippines (PHP) as the destination currency and enter the amount you want to send.
Step 2: Create a cash pickup recipient
- If you have sent money to this person's bank account before, you still need to create a new recipient for cash pickup — the two recipient types are separate.
- When adding your recipient, select "A person who will collect funds" as the recipient type, then enter their details carefully.
Step 3: Pay for your transfer
- Complete your transfer and proceed to payment. Pay as soon as possible to avoid delays — OrbitRemit will not release the transfer for collection until payment is received.
For a full guide to payment methods, see: What payment options do I have to pay for transfers?
Step 4: Your recipient collects the cash
- Once OrbitRemit receives your payment, the transfer is released for collection. If you provided a valid mobile number, your recipient will receive an SMS with their transfer reference number and instructions on where to collect.
