The Government of Bangladesh offers a 2.5% cash incentive to Bangladeshi citizens living abroad when sending money home. OrbitRemit transfers to Bangladesh are eligible for this incentive.
How does it work?
When you send money to Bangladesh through OrbitRemit, the government will add an extra 2.5% of your transfer payout amount (in BDT) directly to your recipient's bank account.
For example, if your recipient is due to receive 10,000 BDT, the government will deposit an additional 250 BDT into their account.
This 2.5% bonus is sent as a separate transfer by the government and will not appear in your OrbitRemit transfer history.
Who is eligible?
You (the sender) must:
- Be a Bangladeshi national living and working abroad
- Not be employed by a government agency or statutory body
Your recipient must:
- Be a citizen and resident of Bangladesh
Are there any additional requirements?
