What is proof of source of funds?

If you are making a large transfer, or have sent a number of transfers over a given period, we may be required to ask you for information that confirms where your funds have come from. This is a regulatory requirement in every country OrbitRemit operates in — it is not specific to you, and it does not mean anything is wrong with your account.

We simply need to understand how you obtained the funds you wish to transfer internationally. Depending on your answer, we may ask for supporting documentation.

What documents are accepted?

There is no single fixed list, but in most cases one of the following will be sufficient:

Employment income

  • Your most recent bank statement and a corresponding payslip showing your regular income, or
  • Your most recent bank statement showing your salary being deposited, plus a savings statement if available, or
  • Tax forms showing your gross earnings for your most recent period of employment

Property sale or loan

  • A property settlement statement (usually obtained from your solicitor) showing the sale proceeds and how they were paid to you, or
  • A loan agreement and a screenshot of your bank account showing the funds available in your name

Important requirements

All documents must:

  • Clearly show your full name and address
  • Be identifiable as belonging to accounts linked to your OrbitRemit account

We will contact you directly if we need documentation from you, and will let you know exactly what is required. You can attach documents directly to the support ticket we send you.
