What does transfer status ‘Awaiting Update’ mean?

A status of Awaiting Update means OrbitRemit has encountered a problem completing your transfer. This is usually because the recipient's account details are invalid — most commonly the account number is incorrect, or the account name you entered does not match what the bank has on record for that account.


What happens next?

Our team will contact you directly to explain the specific reason for the issue and outline the options available to you. You will generally have two options:

Option Details
Nominate a new recipient Provide updated or alternative recipient account details for us to send the funds to
Request a refund We can return the funds to your original payment account — see: Refunds

Once you have confirmed your preferred option, OrbitRemit will void the transfer showing as Awaiting Update and either create a new transfer for the updated recipient or process your refund.
