What could delay my transfer?

Most transfers are processed smoothly, but there are a few common reasons a transfer may take longer than expected. In many cases, delays are outside OrbitRemit's direct control.

For country-specific processing times, see: What countries can I make transfers to?

1. Your bank's payment cut-off time

Banks in Australia and New Zealand have local cut-off times, after which any payment sent will not be processed until the next working day. This means a payment that has left your account may not have arrived in OrbitRemit's account yet.

Payments made on weekends or after the cut-off time on Fridays or public holidays will take longer to reach us. For the fastest processing, make your payment on a weekday before your bank's cut-off time.

2. Verification requirements

Before your first transfer can be processed, you must complete identity verification. If the information you provide does not meet our requirements, your transfer will be held until verification is completed successfully.

To check your verification status, visit the Verification menu in your OrbitRemit profile. Note that verification status is only visible once you have created a transfer.

For help with verification, see: Having problems with biometric verification?

3. The receiving bank's processing time

Once OrbitRemit has sent your funds, the time it takes for the money to appear in your recipient's account depends on the receiving bank. Processing times vary between banks and countries.

Although your transfer may show a status of Paid, the funds may not yet be visible in your recipient's account. Equally, your recipient may have already received the funds before the status has updated. We recommend checking with your recipient directly before contacting us.

How to ensure the fastest processing

  • Pay OrbitRemit immediately after creating your transfer
  • Make transfers and payments on weekdays before your bank's local cut-off time
  • Complete your identity verification accurately and promptly
  • Check with your recipient to confirm whether the funds have arrived before contacting support
